Sooo... I co-authored a chapter in a new book!
...with Hilary Towle, Ed.M, featuring an introduction by Bianca I. Laureano, PhD h.c., MA, CSE, CSES.
This inaugural book is titled:
Fundamental Concepts and Critical Developments in Sex Education: Intersectional and Trauma Informed Approaches.
The brilliant editors are Reece M. Malone, Tracie Q. Gilbert, Catherine Dukes, and Justine Ang Fonte.
While this book offers a comprehensive resource that equips emerging and experienced sexuality educators with contemporary frameworks for trauma-informed, equitable, and anti-oppressive education, the learnings and actions in our chapter can be applied anywhere in life.
Our chapter, Making Mistakes and Practicing Accountability, is for you if you have one or more privileged identities (white, het, cis, cis man, Christian, neurotypical, non-disabled, etc). We invite you to explore and address our often harmful impacts on people with often intersecting marginalized identities (BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, Muslim, Jewish, people with disabilities, etc.).
A recent reader (Christina, she/her) shares:
“[This chapter] was one of the most affirming, inclusive, and practical calls to action I have read in years!”
The BONUS? You will have access to the brilliant minds of at least 30 other authors and editors.
So, if you wanna read the chapter,
then you've gotta buy the book!
